Once, I was troubled so much
Someone close left me forever,
My heart ached, craving for that healing touch,
I didn’t seem to ever feel better.
I left home and reached a holy land,
At ease with the water, the sun, the earth so grand.
I met a yogi in his ashram next to a stream,
He said: “Son, you’re living in God’s divine play, a cosmic dream.
Go back happy, as you’re here just for a brief period,
Don’t waste your time, and don’t be so serious.
Friends, possessions, families, races —
All that seems so real now,
Once death throws you apart,
Higher reality will hug you somehow.”
Yes, I am joyful now.
